Ethereum क्या है?

Ethereum का इतिहास

एक Russian Programmer Vitalik Buterin ने Ethereum को 2013 के अंत में create किया था. उसने इसे formally announce January 2014 को Miami, USA में हुयी The North American Bitcoin Conference में किया था.

Ethereum को ऐसी दो चीज़ों को करने के लिए बनाया गया था जोकि bitcoin नहीं कर सकता था.

बल्कि ये एक कोशिश थी, smart contracts और DApps को independently code, run और execute करने की बिना किसी भी human interaction के.

July 2014 में, Co-founder के तौर पर, Dr. Gavin Wood की joining से Ethereum Foundation ने Ethereum software की development को bootstrapped किया और Ether tokens के $18 million prescale में raise कर लिए.

Vitalik Buterin

Vitalik Buterin (CEO) – 2011 में Bitcoin की मदद से, Vitalik ने cryptocurrencies और blockchain technologies को discover किया. उसने Bitcoin को समझने के लिए 2012 में Bitcoin Magzine को देखा. 2014 में Theil Fellowship मिलने के बाद, उसने Ethereum पर full-time काम करने के लिए University of Waterloo को drop out कर दिया. Vitalik ने इस बात को समझा कि future में offer करने के लिए blockchain technology के पास क्या है और 2013 में उसने Ethereum को invent किया.

Gavin Wood (CTO) – 2014 में एक mutual friend के ज़रिये Gavin Vitalik से मिले. उसने smart contract language Solidity को बनाया. Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) के लिए, उन्होंने Ethereum blockchain पर पहला yellow paper भी लिखा.

Jeffery Wilcke – Inception के बाद, वह Ethereum पर Go programming की implementation के कार्य को देख रहें हैं.

Total कितने Ether produce किये जायेंगे?

बहुत से लोग इस बात को जानना चाहते हैं कि कितना bitcoins को produce किये जायेगा. पर ये Ethereum नहीं है जोकि produce या mine किया जायेगा, बल्कि ये  तो Ether है.

Ethereum एक network है जोकि blockchain technology पर based है, और Ether एक cryptocurrency हैं जोकि इस network को चलाती है.

Ether को issue किये जायेगा constant annular लीनियर rate पर block mining process के द्वारा. यह total annual ETH जोकि pre-sale में बनेंगे, उसका 0.3 times होगा.

Presale में 60,102,216 Ether बने.

तो इस तरह हर साल approx. 18 million Ether बने.

Ether की Mining

Ethereum blockchain को Ether के द्वारा safe रखा जाता है, जोकि miners के लिए एक incentive है.

Ether की supply सालाना 18 million पर limited है. हर 12-14 second में, एक नया Ethereum block mine होता है, और 5 Ether का reward उस computer को दिया जाता है, जिसने उसे mine किया है.

Ether को CPU और GPU mining से mine किया जा सकता है Ethereum blockchain पर blocks को mine करके.

Market Capitalization (Market Cap)

Ethereum के पास अभी $10 Billion का market cap है.

यह Bitcoin की market cap का 1/3 है. अभी 1 Ether की present value $220 है.

The ETH, ETC split, The DAO, and The Hack

Decentralized Autonomous Organization (short में DAO) को Ethereum blockchain के साथ जोड़ा गया था ताकि ये एक Venture Capital Firm के तौर पर काम कर सके जिसे कोई भी न ही own करता हो और न ही operate. इसे smart contracts जोकि DAO tokens को use करके execute होते हैं, उनके basis पर कार्य करने की सम्भावना के साथ बनाया गया था.

June 2016 में इसे $150 million की crowd funding के साथ launch किया गया था.

Launch के तुरंत बाद ही इसे hackers ने hack कर लिया.

US$60 Million के DAO Tokens को DAO के एक faulty code के कारण निकल लिया.

उसके तुरंत बाद, Ethereum blockchain के Block 192000 पर एक Hard Fork implement किया गया जिससे कि DAO token holders के loss को refund किया जा सके. इस Hard Fork ने hacked transaction को invalid करार करते हुए blockchain का एक नया version बना लिया.

इससे ETC (Ethereum Classic) का जनम हुआ.

Ethereum Classic’s blockchain Ethereum की तरह ही same है Block 192000 तक जहाँ इस Hard Fork को implement किया गया था.

Users जिन्हें Hard Fork का idea अच्छा नहीं लगे वे नए version पर upgrade करने की जगह पुराने version से ही mine करते रहे.

तब से, block chains के versions के हिसाब से एक दूसरे से भिन्न है. ETC (Ethereum Classic) एक exchange platform पर trade की जाती है और decentralized apps और smart contracts की same functionality offer करती है.

Bitcoin VS. Ethereum

Bitcoin एक peer to poor electronic cash system है.

Bitcoin digital money है. Bitcoin की blockchain केवल network के शुरुआत से हुयी सभी transactions को store और handle करती है.

यह आसन accounting और value के transfer में मदद करती है.

पर Ethereum blockchain, accounts और transactions को handle करने के इलावा programming logic भी store करती है.

यहाँ एक उधारण दिया गया है:

May की 8 तारीक को, यदि A के account में $X से ज्यादा पैसे हैं तो A के account से B के account में $Y transfer किये जाएँ. यदि नहीं, तो B के account में $Y transfer न किये जाएँ.

और ऐसे codes जब एक बार execute हो जाते हैं, Ethereum की blockchain पर हमेशा के लिए store हो जाते हैं. इससे future decision-making processes में मदद मिलती है.

Ethereum Bitcoin से mostly इस लिए अलग है, क्योंकि Ethereum में आप केवल पैसों कोई ही transfer नहीं करते, आप smart contracts को execute करते हैं.

बहुत से ऐसे real world scenarios हैं, जहाँ हम third parties, middlemen, और escrow agents को transaction को enforce करने के लिए trust करते हैं. इस तरीके से वे सभी अपनी commission को काट लेते हैं. Ethereum के case में ऐसी parties useless बन जाती हैं क्योंकि technology समझदार है. इनमे से कुछ Uber है (जिसे मैंने पहले ही explain किया), कुछ freelancing platforms है जैसे कि Upwork, Insurance Agents, Escrow agents, eBay, और Airbnb इत्यादि.

यदि Ethereum के decentralized platform पर ऊपर बताई गयी सभी applications का रेप्लिका बना दिया जाये, फिर हर एक industry पर इसका निम्न लाभ और positive disruption होगी:

• किसी single point पर हुए failure या control की elimination हो जाएगी.
• Interaction को हटा देता है और process को fast बना देता है.
• Cost कम हो जाएगी क्योंकि Middlemen remove हो जायेगा.

तो जैसे कि Ethereum, Bitcoin से fundamentally अलग है, Ethereum और Bitcoins competitors नहीं हैं. वह इकट्ठे exist कर रहे है और real world की अलग-अलग types की problems को solve कर रहे हैं और दोनों एक नए future की possibility को प्रदर्शित करते हैं.

Ethereum का future

Ethereum का future केवल digital currency के तौर पर ही bright नहीं है, पर smart contracts और DApps को run करने के लिए एक platform के तौर पर भी bright है.

यह एक centralized economy से decentralized, borderless, और permissionless global economy की migration को accelerate कर रहा है.

Decentralized applications finance, entertainment, real estate, academia, insurance, healthcare, public sector, और social media जैसे industries को disrupt और change करेगा.

जैसे internet के inventors को इस बात का कोई अंदाज़ा नहीं था कि आने वाले दशकों में social media और cloud computing applications इस हद तक पहुँच जायेंगे, उसी प्रकार, Ethereum blockchain पर based applications का future क्या होगा.
